Wanting to enjoy the cold to the maximum means enjoying hot drinks to the maximum. A mug chock full of warmth that brings back the color on your blue lips and the feeling in your chilled hands or those of your sweetheart. Read on and delve into the wonderful world of coffee beans, tea leaves and cocoa. Of drinks with or without sugar, of chocolate milk vegan style, of drinks with alcohol or not, or downright healthy drinks.
Vegan hot chocolate
Vegan hot drinks are plentiful. After all, there is no milk in a regular cup of coffee or tea. And more lavish varieties like cappuccinos, latte macchiato and even flat whites can be made just fine with plant-based almond milk, soy milk, oat milk or coconut milk. The same goes for vegan hot chocolate that you make yourself very easily, you don't even need a fancy coffee maker for that. Just heat a few tablespoons of cocoa with vegetable soy milk in a saucepan and keep stirring until the drink is hot enough. Then add sugar or another sweetener as desired and your chocolate milk is ready.
The "deliciousness" is mostly in the presentation. Pour your vegan chocolate milk into a colorful mug or choose one made of tempered glass so you can see the build-up of your chocolate milk even from the outside. This is especially fun if you then dress it up further with a generous dollop of vegan whipped cream and vegan marshmallows - both of which are just on sale at the supermarket. It becomes extra cheerful if you then sprinkle some cocoa and caramel chips on top. Finally, push an original Oreo cookie into the whipped cream and there's a serious vegan party going on in that mug of yours.
Chai tea latte: Indian enjoyment
Tea comes in countless varieties. Have you tried them all once? Then you're ready for a chai latte! Chai is Indian tea, chai tea latte is Indian tea with hot milk. Tea with milk may sound like something from grandmother's time, but thanks to the spicy chai, a drink with a more than spicy character is created. The spices used for this are: cloves, pepper, cardamom, star anise, cinnamon and ginger. You want to try that, right? Especially if you like spicy heat. Here's how to make it:
Make tea with a tea bag chai tea latte. It is important to steep the tea well in a tea glass so that it becomes potent in flavor. Feel free to let the tea bag sit in the hot water for 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, heat 250 ml of soy, almond or cow's milk and froth it up nicely. Now pour the milk on top of the tea (do remove the tea bag first) and sprinkle a little cinnamon or turmeric on top. Believe me: with this drink you will effortlessly withstand any autumn storm (or snow shower). This white drink steals the show in a pretty mug. She is also sugar-free and the herbs are very healthy for you. So, a drink to enjoy to the fullest.
Irish coffee
End a dinner with a plain cup of coffee? Boring! With an unadulterated Irish coffee, the evening really begins. Whiskey gives this hot drink a tough twist with lobbed whipped cream as the perfect smooth counterpart. In fact, this drink has everything you need on a bleak evening. All you need to get is (brown bark) sugar, whiskey, espresso, whipped cream and cinnamon, which you pour into large double-walled coffee glasses in exactly that order. In doing so, first dissolve the sugar in a little boiling water before stirring in the whiskey. Tip: if you beat the cream not too stiffly and pour it into the glass with the back of a spoon, it will float on top of the whiskey coffee. If you have succeeded, you will want to show it off. Transparent glasses are exactly what you need. Finish your Irish coffee with shavings from a vanilla pod. It doesn't get any classier than this.
Salted caramel latte
Another success number is the latte macchiato. But with the arrival and enormous popularity of salted caramel, a marriage between the two could not fail to happen: the salted caramel latte. And this hot drink, too, you just make yourself, of course. Pour a generous tablespoon of salted caramel syrup (simply found in the supermarket) into the bottom of your tall latte glass. Froth up enough whole milk and pour it on top of the syrup. Next, brew a cup of espresso and carefully pour it into the middle of the glass. You'll see that the espresso first disappears into the frothed milk before reappearing at the bottom of the center. It's a kind of magic! Pipe a generous dollop of whipped cream on top of your latte, drizzle a little more of the syrup on top and sprinkle with caramel cubes. For your salted caramel latte, use pretty macchiato glasses and your festive latte will seem to float.
