These reindeer brownies are a treat to make and to serve. The soft, creamy brownie combines perfectly with the saltiness of the pretzels and the crunch of the chocolate candy. Great as a treat, for a party or just a happy baking moment at home.
Ingredients
For 8 reindeer brownies:
- 1 pack brownie choco mix (360 g)
- 50 g butter or margarine (room temperature)
- 100 ml of water
- Optional: 100 g chocolate chips
- 16 mini pretzels (for the antlers)
- 8 red M&Ms or Smarties (for the nose)
- 16 sugar eyes
Supplies
- Baking pan (included or approx. 20 × 20 cm)
- Mixing bowl
- Mixer
- Spatula
- Cutting board and knife
Preparation
- Preheat the oven to 180°C and fold down the edges of the provided baking pan or line a mold of your own with baking paper.
- Cream the butter gently in a batter bowl, add the brownie mix and water and mix until a smooth batter forms.
- Stir any chocolate chips into the batter and spread evenly in the baking pan.
- Bake the brownies in the center of the oven for about 40 minutes until the top is shiny and the inside is still slightly moist.
- Let the brownies cool completely in the mold before taking them out.
- Cut the cooled brownie into 8 rectangular pieces.
- Melt a little chocolate and use it as edible glue.
- At the top of each piece, stick two pretzels as antlers, two sugar eyes in the middle and a red M&M as a nose.
- Let the chocolate harden for a while so that everything stays put.
At the table
Simply place the brownies on a plate or shelf and let everyone choose their own reindeer. The happy little snouts will automatically attract attention and make for a fun presentation. This way, these brownies become not only a sweet ending, but also a cozy conversation starter.
