Whether you're a seasoned barista looking for inspiration or just love to make your coffee and tea moments special: you've come to the right place. In fact, in this blog I share five ways to serve your coffee and tea. After all, coffee and tea are much more than hot brews to start your day. They encourage social connection and are often deeply rooted in a country's culture. So strap on your coffee maker or kettle, sit back and delve into these five different ways to upgrade your coffee and tea enjoyment.
1 | Nice basic: the coffee mug and the tea glass
The functional drinker reaches for it blindly: the coffee mug or tea glass. In the morning, with half an eye on the clock, there is often little room left for anything else. And yet... Treat yourself to a few beautifully designed mugs - have you seen these colorful Grespresso coffee cups? - and effortlessly take that hurried morning coffee moment to the next level so that you start your day really well. As for the tea lovers among us, a refined cup-and-dish or a tall tea glass quickly evokes that ultimate me-time feeling that can overwhelm you at high tea or in a trendy bar. But just at your own kitchen table. Ah, if only everything was that easy!
2 | The easy way: tea in a dispenser or tap
Do you regularly receive many guests or do they often trickle in slowly one by one? Whatever the occasion: you can never intend to run from your guests to the kitchen and back again with a heated head. A drink dispenser or tap is then your lifesaver. Put a couple next to each other and fill one with coffee and one with tea. Be sure to use double-walled drink dispensers made for hot drinks. These types of dispensers may not be the sexiest ones, but if you fill the space around them with a jar of fresh honey, slices of lemon, a scattering of cocoa powder and a bowl of caster sugar, your presentation will still get a big 10.
PS On a hot day, of course, fill the dispensers with your homemade iced tea and/or cold coffee (cold brew).
3 | Get fancy! Coffee in cocktail glasses and embossed glasses
There are few drinks as comforting as a fresh cup of coffee. At the same time, there are few drinks as sophisticated as an elegant cocktail in a glass. When you bring these two worlds together, a heavenly combination awaits you. Indeed, the deep, rich flavor of coffee blends only too readily with the complex flavors of spirits and liqueurs. Presented in a (coffee) cocktail glass, you add an extra touch of glamour to drinking coffee. How about a Coffee Caipirinha (with white rum and espresso), a Mochatini (with Tia Maria, vodka and coffee) or an Espresso Martini (with espresso, gin and Kahlua)? By the way, what can be done with coffee can also be done with tea: an earl grey marteani or a Gin&Tea will give your evening a fine twist.
4 | Pure nature: serve on a wooden serving board
Imagine a wooden serving board in which the grain of the wood is clearly visible. On it a small mug in a warm earth tone from which warm vapors bubble up. Next to it, apart from a few sugar cubes, are two home-baked ginger cookies or some raw chunks of chocolate. Are you already starting to salivate? Of course, all the components on the serving board contribute to the picture, but everything starts with the board. The wood forms the rustic and artisanal basis of this coffee or tea moment that you experience alone or as a couple. It embellishes the presentation and conveys a sense of craftsmanship. It also shows that you have really thought about creating a relaxing setting in which your guests can unwind.
5 | Loose tea in a weck jar
Often we mindlessly reach for our favorite tea flavor as soon as there is a cup of steaming hot water in front of us. Of course, we can do this differently. Add a dash of adventure to your tea moment! To do so, fill a few glass weck jars with loose tea in different flavors. This not only looks attractive, but has a few more advantages:
- A weck jar seals well and keeps the tea leaves in top condition.
- Opening a weck jar releases the fragrance of the tea leaves. Your guests can thus very easily determine which fragrance (and flavor) suits their mood.
- The sight of the different tea leaves invites you to go for a different flavor.
Provide the weck pots with handwritten labels and place a tea measuring spoon or place a tea egg spoon next to each tea glass. With this you scoop out the right amount of tea leaves from the weckpot in one movement. Then gently lower the spoon into the hot water to allow the tea to steep. Will you get out the cookie jar?
